The world today has so many distractions that we lost sight of the most important our way home to God our savior. With all the violence and sinfulness around us are we immune? No we are not. We get infected by the sinfulness that have become plentiful. The devil never had it so good harvesting the souls of the damned in greater numbers. He failed to destroy the one true church in nearly 2,000 years and he will never be able to because its the sanctuary of the elect. It is the new ark of the covenant that will bring the elect to perfection and ultimate salvation. But some elect choose to jump out of the ark for their own self destruction lured by the merriment and enjoyment of people outside of it for those outside are saying what are you doing there? Look here, this is what life is to be happy and not miserable. What do you do in there but pray, pray, pray? While we here outside sing praises for we have been given so much blessings of wealth, fun, and enjoyment.
The greatest temptation that is in the world today is the false sense of confidence that Faith alone and the mercy of God will save us no matter what we do with our lives. Once saved always saved shouted the others. This false sense of a secured salvation encourage many to be obstinate in sins for they say, God is merciful, he understands our situation and so men abuse the mercy of God to their satisfaction. Mercy comes to those who persevere in holiness but at many times fail and succumb to temptation and sin again but mercy has already been given by God in advance not after our death. For in death comes not mercy but justice and the day of judgment is the day of reckoning where even the most holy saint trembled in fear.
With mercy, God has given us the Sacrament available only in his church for when he was asked how many times we must forgive he said 7 times 77. Thus we have the Sacrament of Reconciliation given to us that even if our sins be as numerous as the stars in heaven we may be washed clean and pure again in the eyes of God for in that precious Sacrament, God forgets the sins and remember only the son who was dead and has come back to life again. There will be rejoicing of angels and saints in heaven for every soul that finds his way back home to the Father. Such is the love of God for men that mercy has been given in advance and it is the same love that justice is given after our death. For just is the love of God.
God loves you unconditionally for even if you are in your sins he already given you the instruments of mercy to make you whole again. Such is salvation from God alone for he is our savior. He has always been merciful for he is himself mercy but he is also just and justice he will render for without justice the universe will fall into chaos and disorder for it is the justice of God that makes the entire creation perfect in its entirety. Perfection is the state of orderliness both in heaven and on earth. Perfection is God thus Jesus said, be ye perfect as your father in heaven. It is in his unchanging state of eternal perfection that God will render justice thus those who remain imperfect by their choice of following their own imperfect desires must go to the place that God has created to them, hell.
Hell therefore is a place, a real place of torment so that the imperfect creatures of God, man and demons alike who by their choice willed to remain in their imperfections will be confined and tormented for all eternity. Fire creates chaos and disorder that is why the chaotic and disorderly state by which the creature has gotten himself into is destined to eternity having lost his salvation. Thus hell is a place of chaos, disorder, hatred, ugliness deserving of those that has lived in obstinate sinfulness.
Therefore brothers and sister don't stay complacent and don't depend on the false teachings of those that make you obstinate in your sins that God will not punish us with judgment of hell but will be our merciful Father who will understand what we have done in our lives. We have been warned by St. Paul over this complacency and false security that once saved always saved. Sin is sin and the wages of sin is death. If then we have been saved through Jesus Christ and we sin again, God's mercy is available in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He loves us so much that even in the moment before we die he has given us the way to be saved by persevering in faith and the works of salvation through the Sacraments without which we are doomed. That is why, outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation for it is in her that we find the instruments of mercy that God has given us.
God bless.
