HOW MANY WILL BE SAVED?

By Bro. Manny OTFS Apologist

'So many people are going to die, and almost all of them are going to Hell! So many people falling into hell!' - Bl. Jacinta of Fatima

In our article on Hell, we know it exists, its real, its a destination of the damned souls of those who died in the state of mortal sin. Not too long ago in my early days I remember that we were taught about hell and we believed it and try to be good all the time. It is always a wake-up call for us whenever we were reminded of it that we fear it, we fear it and so we try to be good. But today it's different, the mindset has changed the people laugh about it, make it a subject of joke, and take it for granted. Many people are so obstinate in their sins that they are even proud to go to hell than change their evil ways.
An LGBT Activist Shouting To the World She Is Going To Hell and Proud of it
Many learned people and leaders are even romanticizing hell as a way to drive home a point of the advocacy. They use hell for their philosophical discourses to make them appear heroes of their cause. The new President of the Philippines even said that "He would rather go to hell so that the people he serves will live in paradise". Lesbians and gays would stand in rallies holding placards that they are "Going to Hell and Proud". These people are clearly mocking God and they love it. They laugh and boast. But the day of their reckoning will come when they alone face the horrific judgment of making their wishes come true, going to hell. Such is their destination if they continue with their foolishness and their wicked ways. If they continue in their sins and will not change they will suffer the consequences of their action. Be careful with what you wish for it may just come true to you. St. Paul said in Galatians 6:7-8 "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life."

So now you have people that make fun of the Lord with willful boasting that they are ready to go to hell. Such people have been consumed by their passion for whatever they desire that are pleasing to them. They have looked upon it as their natural right to be what they are not what God wants them to be. Its repudiation of the will of God, rejection of Jesus Christ and his teachings. Thus Hebrew 10-26-31 sums up what is happening today with these  "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.

Where do these people find the audacity to mock the Living God? How many can they be so rebellious in their ways and utterances that they have lost the reverence on the divine authority? Do they think That God is helpless and soft? The Apostle Peter points in 2 Peter 2:4-10 "if God did not spare angels when they sinned but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven other when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter; and if he rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of the principled men, the the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority"

But the boastful will reason out isn't it that the Lord did not come to condemn but to save the world? Yes its right but it's the world that rejects him and his commandments choosing to live their lives the way they want it, the way they choose it, the way that is pleasing to their senses. Thus they choose to be condemned. Their judgment is their own free will and the irony of it is they are proud of it.

How then can all the people be saved if they are the ones refusing to be saved? It is not that God chooses to condemn the world, it is the world that condemns itself. Thus for this reason even if God wanted all men to be saved only few will be saved for it is written in Matthew 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only few find it." ONLY FEW FIND IT!

“What destruction awaits those who don't make it to the narrow gate? One time a disciple asked "Lord,” “will only a few people be saved?” Jesus answered, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able. After the master of the house gets up and shuts the door, you will stand outside knocking and saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’But he will reply, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
And he will answer, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers.’
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves are thrown out. People will come from east and west and north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God. And indeed, some who are last will be first, and some who are first will be last.”

Work out therefore your own salvation through Jesus Christ and be perfected in his church the Catholic Church for it is there that the instruments of salvation can be found.
