CATHOLIC CHURCH DOCTRINES

ONE HOLY CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH

[Tagalog version click here]

Knowledge of the truth is available. You can find it here.
As we have taught you in the Page Catholic Church, the Catholic Church and Roman Catholic Church are one and the same church which is the only one true church founded, established, and built by our Lord Jesus Christ himself. Likewise the kingdom of heaven on earth which was promised by the Father and of which Jesus said for which purpose he came into the world is the Catholic Church. This is where the OTFS Defenders of the Catholic Faith solidly and firmly stand. And so we present to you this Catholic Church Doctrines which we present for your easy reference and understanding.

The Catholic Church Doctrines did not come from the teachings of men but from the teachings of God, the Son of God, Jesus Christ. The Apostles and Church Fathers who were the hands of the Lord in building HIS CHURCH which we will know to be the kingdom of heaven on earth promised by the Father in the Old Covenant have taught what they heard from the Lord who also heard it from the one who sent him, the Father. Therefore the Catholic Church Doctrines are to be hold infallible, free of error for they did not originate from man who is imperfect but from God who is perfect.

The Doctrines in fact can be found in the Deposit of Faith of the Catholic Church and the Articles of Faith. We will shortly outline them and you can access them just by clicking on the each of the article you may want to read. The term Deposit of Faith refers to the entire revelation of Jesus Christ that is passed on to the Apostles who passed it on to the succeeding Bishops and Church Fathers in the immediate centuries following the death of the Apostles and down to the successive generations. There are two forms of the Deposit of Faith, the Sacred Scripture (the Bible) and the Sacred Traditions (oral traditions and practices pass through the apostolic succession).

The Articles of Faith are taught in the Apostles Creed which summarizes everything that a Christian must profess and believe. It is therefore also called Profession of Faith. The entire Catholic Doctrines are therefore embodied in the Articles of Faith which we continue to profess in our prayers, in the churches, in the Holy Mass. It is how it was passed on from generations to generation.

THE APOSTLES CREED

The Apostles Taught The 12 Articles of Faith That Are The Origins of Catholic Church Doctrines

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth; (The 1st article)
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; (The 2nd)
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary, (The 3rd)
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died, and was buried. (The 4th)
He descended into dead;
The third day he rose again from the dead; (The 5th)
He ascended into Heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
(The 6th)
From thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
(The 7th)
I believe in the Holy Spirit, (The 8th)
The Holy Catholic Church,
The Communion of Saints, (The 9th)
The forgiveness of sins, (The 10th)
The resurrection of the body, (The 11th)
And life everlasting. Amen. (The 12th)

Unlike the Doctrines of other religions which they themselves formulated and taught and therefore subject to the errors that ruin the souls of those who profess them, the Articles of Faith of the Catholic Church are free of any error for they come directly from God through Jesus Christ and the Apostles. That is why the Catholic Church has always referred to itself as Apostolic meaning that it derived its teachings directly from Jesus Christ to the Apostles down to their successors through generations of Bishops.

For the OTFS, the One True Faith can only be found in the one true church, the Catholic Church.

We will now go through the Catholic Doctrines from the Articles of Faith described.

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH DOCTRINES

The Doctrines presented have been taken from both the Catechism of Trent of 1566 and the Catholic Church Catechism of 1992 which was the product of the Council of Trent under then Pope Pius IV. The council of Trent was called for to counter the effects of reformation of Martin Luther and to correct the doctrinal errors he was preaching that caused many Catholics to fall.

Getting the Doctrines from two sources and presenting them in easy reading and understanding for you is one of hardest work we are undertaking even at this point. This is therefore a work in progress because we want this to be a single source of materials that can be used by our OTFS Defenders of Catholic Faith as well as our members and supporters. Having this in heart will safeguard you against the false teachers and preachers coming from the missions of false religions that have come out today. If by this you are able to fortify yourself and others against the deceptions of those with twisted tongues then our hard work is worth it.

Links to the pages of the Doctrines listed below are still under construction as of the launching of this web blog. Some maybe completed first than the others so you can just come back from time to time or we will announced the availability as we move forward.

For our Filipino brothers and sisters please know that these doctrines will also be produced in Tagalog Version so we can reach out to the general public who are more into reading Tagalog or we call it Taglish since there terms that may not be suitable to be translated to Tagalog so that it will not lose its true essence in that may happen in the translation.
